The nearest towns to Knockin are Oswestry (5 miles), Shrewsbury (15 miles) and Chester (30 miles).
Places of interest include: Powis Castle (National Trust); Whittington Castle; Offa's Dyke; the Heritage Area at Llanymynech; Lake Vyrnwy; Llanrhaeadr Waterfall; Chirk Aqueduct; Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (World Heritage Site); Ellesmere Lakes, Llangollen (Canal and Steam Railway) and Welshpool and Llanfair Narrow Gauge Steam Railway.
About 30 miles away is the world-famous Ironbridge with its ten museums including the famous Blists Hill Victorian Town where visitors can go back 100 years and experience characters in their Victorian costumes. At Maesbury (two miles away) there is a canal-side café situated in a beautiful setting on the idyllic Montgomery Canal.
There are some 25 golf courses in Shropshire, four of which are close to Knockin.
Knockin is a wonderful area and base for fishing, cycling, walking, etc. which are all easily accessible.
